Suttle Tea

Suttle Tea has been serving tea to residents and visitors in Sisters, Oregon since November 2015.  Sisters' first-ever tea cafe is located on East Cascade Avenue where it intersects with Highway 20, east of the downtown thoroughfare.

Suttle Tea takes its clever name and decor inspiration from nearby Suttle Lake.

For the trivia fans, Suttle Lake was named for John Settle who found the lake in 1866 and whose name was misspelled on the original geographical records.

Inside the entrance is the retail space where guests can stock up on their favorite tea and teaware, find gift-giving inspiration, and order food and beverages for dine-in or take-away.

The tea cafe offers black, oolong, green, white, and flavored teas, as well as chai, matcha, herbals, tea lattes, bubble tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate.  Teas are available hot or as cold brew and ranges from mid-to-high grade with the latter listed on the menu as Porcelain Teas.  Most of the herbals and tisanes are sustainably produced and/or sourced locally.

In addition to beverages, Suttle Tea also offers sweet and savory crepes and pastries.

To the left and right of the retail space are dining areas featuring plentiful, casual, and comfortable seating.  Additional seating is available on the front porch and on the lawn.

This was my last stop before a long drive home, so I picked up a hot cup of Spicy Chai to-go.  Though my visit was brief, I'm looking forward to many more on my regular travels through Central Oregon.

If you're local or staying in the area overnight, Thursday nights are game night and the doors are open until 9pm.  Be sure to check out their Facebook page for upcoming events and promotions.
