The dry leaves have an aroma of caramel, nuts, and a hint of Irish Cream.

The red-brown infusion has an aroma of caramel with earthy notes and an earthy caramel flavor with a sweet buttery caramel finish.

Since this is a puerh, it does well throughout multiple steepings with hints of caramel continuing to linger after the first infusion.

Tea Review: Clockwork Orange (The Tea Works)

Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of chocolate, caramel, and orange.

The infusion is red-orange with a chocolate, caramel, and orange aroma and an orange and nutty flavor similar to pecans.

The aroma of the dry leaves and liquor remind me of caramel hot cocoa and a Terry's chocolate orange.  One steeping is best, but the nutty orange flavor is still present in a second steeping.

The Tea Works

The Tea Works is a rare but wonderful combination of tea shop and steampunk parlor.  The shop is located in the St Helen's Ave Mercantile and owners Sandy and Tim have been doing business in Tacoma's Antique Row for over two years.

The Tea Works offers a selection of approximately 70 loose leaf teas, including a large variety of tea and tisane blends. 

During this first visit, I couldn't resist purchasing two steampunk-inspired blends, Clockwork Orange and Tilt Your Kilt Caramel.  

The Tea Works also features artwork, gifts, and jewelry designed by local artisans, including a number of fantastic pieces by co-owner Tim.
