The dry leaves have an aroma of wood smoke, apricots, flowers, and grains (wheat?).
The copper red liquor has an aroma of baked fruit, oats, flowers, brown sugar, and fragrant wood. The taste is fruity and nutty, lightly astringent with wood notes and a long finish.
This tea produced three great infusions with the same bold color and slightly less complexity after the first infusion. The aroma in the first cup is heady and delicious and reminds me of my mother's delicious freshly baked peach pear crisp. While the results were very nice at 208° F, I believe a slightly lower temperature would produce even more flavor, especially after the first infusion.
