Remedy Teas

Remedy Teas changed their business name to Modern Steep and transitioned to online sales in August 2017.

Remedy Teas opened for business in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood in 2006 and can be found at the corner of 15th Avenue East and East Harrison Street.

Just inside the entrance, you can pick up a menu and try out the day's tea samples.  You'll find baked goods in the case, including a nice variety of gluten-free items.

Remedy Teas has a selection of 150 organic loose leaf teas.  You can enjoy them prepared in-house, or they're available for sale by the ounce.

It might be interesting on a future visit to open up their tea menu and watch which canisters come down from the wall of tea during your visit.

There are samples of each of the 150 teas for you to see and smell, decoratively lining the entrance wall.

Remedy Teas also carries a nice variety of tea supplies to add to your home or office collection.  They even have chasen and chashaku for preparing matcha.

No opportunity to try out Afternoon Tea will go unexplored, so I ordered the Small Tea Service.  This was the perfect size for a single-sipper like myself and the slices of fruit were a refreshing break between the tiers of baked goods.

My tea selection for this visit was Superior Dragonwell.  I really appreciated that I was provided with a tea timer and a saucer to hold the removable strainer.  The warming candle was a nice touch as well and especially handy for someone that lingers over their tea like myself.

I've visited this tea shop on a couple other occasions and was impressed with their matcha.  If you're in the Capitol Hill area and looking for a well-prepared cup of tea, this is a great destination.
