Tea Review: Sowmee (Metropolitan Tea Company)

Sowmee
Metropolitan Tea Company
Type:  White
Origin:  China, Fujian Province
Product Description:  Delicious toasty character with body reminiscent of Oolongs. Lingering taste that encourages another cup.

Temperature: 175° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 2 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of wood and nut shells.

The infusion is light amber with an aroma of nuts, vanilla, and chocolate.  The taste is nutty and a little green with a long, cool, slightly nutty finish.

This tea was fantastic.  The aroma and taste carried remarkably well through four steepings and could likely have stretched further.  I found 1-1.5 minutes steeping time to be enough to get good results beyond the first cup.   The aroma reminded me of sugar cookies, cocoa butter, and even an almond chocolate bar.  This was a guilt-free pleasure to drink.

This was tea was provided as part of a workshop.
