Tea Review: Pirate King Blend (Friday Afternoon)

Pirate King Blend
Friday Afternoon
Type:  Flavored Black
Origin:  Not Provided
Product Description:  This blend is composed of a scrumptious Irish Cream flavored Ceylon black tea, a touch of Lapsang Souchong, and marigold petals. Very much like rum and gunsmoke in a cup! We sold clean out of this blend when it debuted at FaerieCon West!

Temperature: 208° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of wood smoke, coconut, and a touch of rum.

The infusion is orange-amber with a smoky sweet aroma and notes of cocoa butter and rum.  The taste is smooth and smoky with coconut notes, low astringency and a smooth smoky finish.

The flavor comes out well without being too heavy and holds up fairly well into a second infusion.  Due to the low astringency, I believe this could be easily steeped for 4-5 minutes with good results.

This tea was received as a gift from a third party.
