The dry leaves have a smoky pine aroma.
The liquor is red amber with a smoky aroma along with notes of citrus, pine, and brown sugar. The taste is smoky, moderately astringent and mouthwatering with a long dry finish.
This Lapsang Souchong is one that I could look forward to drinking regularly, especially in the colder months. The smoky pine aroma and flavor is mild, moderately astringent, and easy on the palate with more nuance than the more heavily smoked variety.
