Tea Review: 1993 Green Puer Cake

1993 Green Puer Cake
Alan Laszuk Private Reserve
Type: Puerh
Origin: China, Yunnan Province
Product Description:  This is a Menghai Tea Factory puer cake processed in the old school style using both leaves and stems in the finished cake.

Temperature: 202° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaf has a smoky, salty nori aroma.

The infusion is orange with an aroma and taste of steamed root vegetables and a hint of earth.

This was a wet storage puerh that seemed to have been rushed through.  There was a note warning of this, so my expectations were not too high.  I found it interesting that both the aroma and taste took on sweet carrot-like notes.  Aside from that, there was little change between three infusions.

This was tea was provided as part of a workshop.
