Tea Review: 2004/2005 Elephant Organic Arbor Puer

2004/2005 Elephant Organic Arbor Puer
Alan Laszuk Private Reserve
Type: Puerh
Origin: China, Yunnan Province
Product Description:  This is an organic old arbor spring bud and tips plucking that was sun dried and stone mold formed.  The tea is young and very much like a maocha, the early stage puer in character and body.

Temperature: 185° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have a mossy, sweet green aroma.

The infusion is pale yellow-green with a light sweet vine-green aroma and a faint hint of moss.  The taste is light, sweet, nutty, a little starchy, with just a faint hint of earthiness.

This puerh is smooth and light.  I increased the steeping time by 20 seconds with each infusion and by the third infusion I had a cup with more color and more complex flavors.  I would expect to get several more interesting infusions from this tea.

This was tea was provided as part of a workshop.
