Kanshundo Honten

Kanshundo Honten has been making traditional sweets in Kyoto since 1865.  They offer sweets for gifts, auspicious occasions, and for tea ceremony.

While in Kyoto, I visited their main shop, located near the bridge over the Kamo River at the corner of Shomen-dori and Kawabata-dori.

My purchases included Ohigashi for Autumn tea events...

...and one of my favorite sweets, Fuyaki Senbei.  Their delicate texture and mildly sweet white bean filling pair very well with green tea.
