Elizabeth and Alexander

Elizabeth and Alexander closed on March 26, 2016.

Elizabeth & Alexander is located right next to the entrance to Bothell's Country Village on Bothell-Everett Highway.  The exterior is in keeping with the Country Village's rustic rural aesthetic of yesteryear while the interior is reminiscent of an English countryside tea room.

This pleasant little gentleman welcomes you at the entrance with the scone flavors of the day.

I chose the full Afternoon Tea experience and my friend went with the slighly lighter fare of the Alexander's Tea. Portions are so generous that I wasn't quite able to finish my meal.

The tea menu focuses largely on black teas, though they do offer a small selection of herbals.

My tea selection was Earl Grey.  At first I was concerned when presented with a large teapot with tea leaves floating loose and no way to separate them from the full-brewed tea.  Most often this can lead to much of the tea becoming too bitter to enjoy.  However, this particular blend of Earl Grey was flavorful while not becoming too strong.  I finished most of the pot and didn't even need to add cream!

Elizabeth & Alexander is worth a visit and you can look forward to exploring the many shops in the neighboring Country Village before or after your meal.

Be sure to call ahead for reservations on Saturdays as the tea room is almost always booked up.
