The dry leaves have an aroma of cocoa and dates.
The infusion is red-orange with an aroma of sweet baked fruit similar to peaches. The taste is moderately astringent with a fruity finish.
This tea is strong enough that I would recommend steeping at a lower temperature and for slightly less time if you would prefer to enjoy it without milk. The first steeping offers the most nuance and I would not recommend a second steeping as it becomes much more astringent.
I have also tried this Ceylon as a cold-brewed iced tea and the results are refreshingly sweet and fruity.
