Tea Republik Capitol Hill

Tea Republik Capitol Hill closed September 2018.

Tea Republik has been a fixture in Seattle's University District for several years.  A second tea room opened in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in 2014, on Broadway East near East John Street.

The tea menu offers a nice selection of green, black, oolong, and white teas, as well as several chai blends, hand-tied blooming teas, herbals, and tisanes.  Tea Republik is well known for its large selection of cream teas and iced milk and fruit teas.  Breakfast sandwiches, Southeast Asian-style hot dogs, and pastries are also available for hungry visitors.

The tea room layout is cozy while also providing plentiful seating with plenty of room to spread out and relax.  Some may find it difficult to pry themselves away from the comfort of the cozy cushioned seating and calming sound of the babbling fountain.

My tea selection for this visit was Snow Dragon white tea.  A small plate is provided to hold the infuser after the tea is fully steeped.  With free hot water refills, I was able to finish off two full pots of this delicious tea before I needed to move on to my next appointment.

Tea Republik is open late, ideal for late-night studies and after work relaxation.
