Otsukimi & Mid-Autumn Festival

To celebrate Otsukimi (Moon Viewing) and Mid-Autumn Festival, I'm drinking tea and eating mooncake.  It's been a while since I prepared gongfu cha and I had almost forgotten what a great way this is to relax and enjoy all aspects of the tea.

My tea was Amber Dragon oolong and my mooncake was flavored with oolong tea.

The lunar eclipse took place while the moon was still low in the sky so we missed the full red moon while it was hidden behind the neighborhood trees.  We were still able to see some of the eclipse as the moon moved above the trees.

Following the moon's appearance, I enjoyed a bowl of matcha underneath the night sky.
