Tea Review: Heavily Roasted Dong Ding (Eco-Cha)

Heavily Roasted Dong Ding
Type:  Oolong
Origin:  Taiwan, Lugu
Product Description:  This is a limited edition tea from an inaugural harvest.

Temperature: 195° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of charcoal, wheat, and sweet oats.

The pale yellow infusion is smooth with a savory aroma and flavor of butter and nuts and a long finish with light notes of dried apricot and flowers.

This is an oolong that welcomes multiple infusions with each bringing out changes in flavor and aroma.  The color of the liquor darkened after the first infusion and honey, floral, and woody notes began to come through along with a more pronounced finish.
