While visiting Las Vegas for the World Tea Expo, I attended an Afternoon Tea at the Mandarin Oriental Tea Lounge, located off the Las Vegas Strip (South Las Vegas Boulevard) along West Aria Place.
Enter on the ground floor and take an elevator to the 23rd floor where the Tea Lounge, the Mandarin Bar, and the Sky Lobby are located.
Though the Tea Lounge shares the floor with the Sky Lobby, the spaces are well separated, significantly decreasing the potential distraction from arrivals and departures. Seating is comfortable and varies from chairs to sofas, arranged to provide good flow to the space and an intimate feel for guests.
The Tea Lounge boasts a panoramic view of Las Vegas with shades partially drawn during the hours when the sun is at its brightest.
The Tea Lounge offers a Classic English Afternoon Tea and Gong Fu Cha (24 hours notice and a minimum of three guests required). The tea menu includes white, green, oolong, and black teas, matcha, puerh, and tisanes. Champagne, tea cocktails, and an assortment of sweets, scones, and fruit are also available.
I selected the seasonal tea, Eros, a delightful Ceylon tea blend with Mandarin orange and vanilla flavor.
Scones were served freshly baked with authentic Devonshire cream alongside strawberry and blueberry preserves. A delicious assortment of sweets and savories were served on a free-standing three-tier stand. Though the portions looked deceptively small, they were more than filling.
The Mandarin Oriental Tea Lounge can accommodate for most food restrictions with 24 hours notice.
Reservations are required.
