Upcoming Event: Tea and Food Pairing Intensive (World of Tea Series)

Northwest Tea Festival will host a tea and food tasting event as part of the World of Tea Series on Saturday, July 16th.

Hosted by Roberta Fuhr (Experience Tea Studio)

Discover the tea and food combinations that delight and excite you! Everyone’s personal chemistry is different and pairings that one person likes may not appeal to another. In this class we taste five single origin teas with nine different savory, sweet, pungent and bitter tastes—a myriad of combinations to give you a tasting adventure. We use tasting sheets so that each participant can record perceptions and play with your own favorites well after the class. Wonderful for ages 10 to adult.
(Foods may contain animal products, gluten, nuts, and other ingredients so please be mindful of your own allergies or sensitivities.)
Teacher Bio: Roberta Fuhr is the owner of Experience Tea Studio in Issaquah and has been teaching adults and children’s Tea Discovery classes since 2011. A Certified Tea Specialist, Roberta was trained through the Specialty Tea Institute and has traveled throughout China, Japan and Sri Lanka to augment and enhance her understanding of tea. All her classes involve history, cultures, science and botany of tea—no matter what the theme may be. Tea is much more than a drink—it’s an experience.
