Tea Review: Nandi Hills Black (JusTea)

Nandi Hills Black
JusTea
Type: Black
Origin: Kenya
Product Description: Two leaves and a bud are carefully hand-plucked and fully oxidized to create this unique, long leaf black tea. Wonderfully malty and smooth on its own, this tea should be enjoyed without milk and sugar.

Temperature: 208° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of fragrant wood and sweet oats.

The infusion is bright red with a slightly sweet aroma of baked green beans.  The taste is almost smooth with persimmon-like notes and only a hint of astringency.

The best flavor and aroma were in the first two infusions with the flavor developing even further as the leaves unfurled in the second infusion.  The considerably milder third infusion was still enjoyable.

This tea was provided as a free sample without guarantee of a review.
