The dry leaves have an aroma of aged wood and apricots or plums.
The bright red infusion has an aroma is rich with notes of baked fruit and honey. The taste is moderately astringent with a long, dry, fruity finish.
Steeping for 3 minutes produced flavorful results. A shorter steeping time of 1.5-2 minutes produced a sweeter aroma with fruit and wood-like notes and an intriguingly savory taste with notes of whole grains and fruit, mild astringency, and a fruity finish.
