Tea Review: Chat Vert (Phoenix Tea)

Chat Vert
Phoenix Tea
Type: Flavored Green, Herbal
Origin: Not provided.
Product Description:
A mysteriously soothing & invigorating blend of Chinese Green Tea, Catnip, Gingko & Spearmint.
Temperature: 175° F
Amount: 2 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of mint and herbs.

The pale yellow infusion has a sweet, minty, and savory herbal aroma and taste with a long, minty and lightly herbal finish.

I learned the hard way some time ago that mint leaves weigh almost nothing and will overwhelm everything (and possibly try to take over the world) when weighed out to 3 grams, so the standard heaping teaspoon is the best visual measure for this blend.  If you do prefer to weight out your tea, 1.5 grams produces a light and refreshing infusion and 2 grams is full-flavored, while not too heavy, and refreshing.  This is the only tea blend with catnip I've tasted and it's surprisingly pleasant with a savoriness presumably coming from the catnip to balances out the briskness of the mint.

This tea was purchased by me.
