I would like to introduce you to the newest member of my teaware family.  This is a chabako, a tea chest where utensils are stored and trasnported when a tea ceremony will be performed away from the tea room.  This style of chabako would not be ideal for the safe transportation of anything you hope to use again, but it is perfect for storage and display.  Simpler and much more transport-friendly chabako are lined and lidded boxes that open from the top.  These can range in appearance from raw wood to ornately decorated lacquer.
