Tea Review: Bancha (Keiko)

Bancha
Keiko
Type:  Green
Origin:  Japan, Kagoshima Prefecture
Product Description:  This Bancha is special since its base are shaded tea leaves from the the first picking. It has a mild and harmonious aroma and a light green cup. Low in caffeine and therefore ideal for families!

Temperature: 175° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 2 minutes

The dry leaf aroma is sharply green, spicy and salty.

The infusion is light green with a toasted green, floral aroma.  The taste is sweet and green, with roasted vegetal notes, and a long finish.

This tea was quite refreshing and I believe it might also make a nice palate cleanser, waking up the taste buds and leaving a fresh feeling.

This tea was provided as a free sample without guarantee of a review.
