Tea Review: Xiao Cai Cha (Phoenix Tea)

Xiao Cai Cha (Spring Blossom Pekoe)

Type:  Green
Origin:  China, Fujian Province
Product Description:  A full-bodied green tea with a pleasant astringency made at 180 degrees; pure sweet grassiness at 160 degrees.

Temperature: 175° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 2 minutes

The dry leaves have a buttery, nutty (macadamia), and savory green aroma.

The golden green infusion has a green vegetal aroma with lightly floral and nutty notes.

While I found the refreshing green aroma and flavor suited my tastes very well at 175° F, I'm looking forward to tasting the sweeter results at the lower temperature recommended by Phoenix Tea.
