The dry leaves have an aroma of prunes and dates, red pepper, oats, sugar, and a hint of wood.
The infusion is orange amber with an aroma of cocoa, buttery macadamia nuts, and baked squash. The taste is smooth, lightly sweet and smoky, with notes of grilled vegetables and roasted almonds.
After three infusions this tea was still producing a rich, full-bodied aroma and taste and I would expect it to continue producing great results for a couple more infusions. The flavor and aroma reminded me very much of Da Hong Pao.
