The dry leaf aroma has notes of earth, citrus (I was reminded of limes), moss, aged wood, and a hint of smoke.

The liquor is red with an earthy aroma and a hint of sweet citrus.  The taste is smooth, rich, and earthy with a delicate sweet citrus finish.

This was one of the smoothest puerh teas I've had the pleasure of tasting.  The citrus in the aroma is so subtle that I likely wouldn't have been able to identify it if I hadn't seen the pomelo pieces among the tea leaves.  Instead, it lends a pleasant light sweetness to the aroma.  While the citrus is initially light in taste it lends richness to the initial flavor with citrus notes becoming slightly more prominent after each sip.  The liquor color darkened notably with a slightly heavier sweetness in taste by the second infusion, followed by a decidedly earthy third infusion.  Huge thanks to the Dawsons for this tea sample!

This tea was received as a gift from a third party.
