Tea Review: Ho-Ho-Hoji-Chai (Smith Teamaker)

Ho-Ho-Hoji-Chai
Smith Teamaker
Type: Flavored Black
Origin: Indonesia, Japan
Product Description:
For a moment of true delight, we bring you this toasty blend of hojicha and traditional chai spices with a happy hint of chocolate. Very lightly caffeinated, it’s brimming with good cheer.
Temperature: 208° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaf blend includes cacao nibs, cardamom, ginger root, cassia, black peppercorns, natural chocolate flavor, cloves, and cardamom oil.

The coppery orange infusion has a roasty aroma of hojicha, mint, and black pepper.  The taste is roasty with notes of mint, black pepper, cardamom, and a subtle hint of cocoa.

This was a very tasty blend of some of my favorite cold weather teas and tisanes. Steeping for 3 minutes produced bold results.  However, I found it to be most enjoyable and flavorful throughout three infusions when steeped for 2 minutes.

This tea was purchased by me.
