The copper red infusion has a deeply smoky aroma. The taste is smooth, smoky, and almost sweet with a long smoky finish.
While steeping for 3 minutes produced a cup of tea that was bold, heavily smoky and mildly astringent, I most enjoyed the results from a 2 minute steep which was smooth and smoky and nicely balanced. The best flavor was in the first two infusions. I've had the pleasure of drinking this blend with Afternoon Tea at Pippa's Real Tea a few years ago and remember that it paired very well with the sweets and savories. After Pippa sold the tea room in 2019, I thought I might not get to enjoy her blends again, so I was delighted to learn that she continues to offer her tea through Cafe Tenby.
