Tea Review: Hot-Headed (Friday Afternoon)

Hot-Headed
Friday Afternoon
Type: Flavored Oolong
Origin: Not Provided
Product Description:
If you can’t take the heat, this isn’t the tea for you! Sophisticated orchid notes sing through charcoal-roasted oolong. Bitey ginger and pepper snaps at your tongue as sweet cinnamon and turmeric build a slow warmth in your belly. Can you handle this?
Temperature: 208° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 4-6 minutes

The dry leaf blend includes turmeric, ginger, oolong, cinnamon, black peppercorn, and granulated honey.

The orange infusion has a roasty aroma with notes of turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon most noticeable.  The taste is savory and spicy with turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and ginger notes and a long finish.

The spices in this blend all came through well without being overwhelming.  I found that I enjoyed this tea most with lengthier steeping times of 5-6 minutes bringing out more of a spicy kick.  While the fullest flavor is in the first two infusions, a third was also quite enjoyable with ginger notes moving to the front.

This is a seasonal fandom blend, usually available in summer.

This tea was purchased by me.
