Tea Review: Pine Sap Lapsang (White2Tea)

Pine Sap Lapsang
White2Tea
Type: Flavored Black
Origin: China, Fujian Province, Wuyi
Product Description:
Referred to as both Zhengshan Xiaozhong and Lapsang Souchong, this is a classic black tea from Wuyi in Fujian province.

The character of our Pine Sap Lapsang has well integrated smoke with a savory character. Excellent tea for people who like a bit of smokey character balanced with a complex black tea profile. Perfect for lovers of cigars and peated scotch whisky.
Temperature: 208° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have an aroma of pine smoke.

The liquor is copper orange with an aroma of pine smoke and baked fruit.  The taste is smoky and almost savory with mild astringency.

This had the smoky aroma and flavor I look forward to in a good lapsang souchong, with a nice balance between smoke and astringency intriguing baked fruit notes in the back.  While the best flavor was in the first infusion, the second and third were also pleasant.

This tea was received as a gift from a third party.
