Tea Shout-Out: White Rabbit Espresso

The Tea Shout-Out highlights restaurants and other businesses who go the extra mile to serve good quality tea.

This shout-out goes to White Rabbit Espresso located on Highway 101 in Newport, Oregon.  They offer a selection of teas from Smith Teamaker as well as Matcha Lattes, Masala Chai, Newport Fog, a Tea & Tonic cocktail.  They also sell most of the teas they serve.  I warmed up on a rainy visit with a pot of Lord Bergamot black tea.

Tea Shout-Out: Nana's Irish Pub

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Nana's Irish Pub in Newport, Oregon's historic Nye Beach district.  In addition to hearty meals and an extensive drinks menu, you'll also find green, black, and herbal teas.

For this visit, I had Barry's Irish Tea with a delicious Tuna Melt.

The Tea Party

The Tea Party is closed.

Last month, I traveled with my mother to the historic community of Nye Beach in Newport, Oregon.  While there, we visited The Tea Party which is an English Boarding House/Bed & Breakfast and tea shop.  The Tea Party is tucked midway among an eclectic mix of shops along NW Beach Drive.

While small in size, the tea shop offers a nice variety of teas, gifts, and teaware.  

At one time, The Tea Party offered Afternoon Tea, but it looks like the dining space may be where the bookshop currently resides. We did not venture beyond the tea shop, but photos online of the boarding house look quite lovely.

We were sorry to hear that the owner of The Tea Party had recently passed away.  The business is still open and tea, teaware, and supplies are still available for purchase.  However, once something sells out, it is not (currently) being re-stocked.

I do wish I had know about this location sooner and could have had the opportunity to visit and to meet the owner who created such a charming space.  I hope that someone can successfully take over as The Tea Party appears to be the only tea shop along the Central Oregon Coast and would be sorely missed.
