This shout-out goes to Roste Chocolate House in Portland, Oregon. In addition to delicious serving single-origin chocolate beverages and pastries, they offer a nice selection of green, black, and herbal loose-leaf teas sourced from Portland-based Portal Tea, as well as chai and matcha lattes.

Tea Shout-Out: White Rabbit Espresso

This shout-out goes to White Rabbit Espresso located on Highway 101 in Newport, Oregon.  They offer a selection of teas from Smith Teamaker as well as Matcha Lattes, Masala Chai, Newport Fog, a Tea & Tonic cocktail.  They also sell most of the teas they serve.  I warmed up on a rainy visit with a pot of Lord Bergamot black tea.

Tea Shout-Out: Nana's Irish Pub

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Nana's Irish Pub in Newport, Oregon's historic Nye Beach district.  In addition to hearty meals and an extensive drinks menu, you'll also find green, black, and herbal teas.

For this visit, I had Barry's Irish Tea with a delicious Tuna Melt.

Tea Shout-Out: Old Asia Teahouse & Restaurant

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Old Asia Teahouse & Restaurant in Beaverton, Oregon which offers an impressive tea menu in addition to delicious food. For my visit, I ordered Seven Treasures Donburi and  Laphet (Fermented Tea Leaf Salad) paired with Da Hong Pao oolong which was served on a gongfu tray with complimentary hot water refills.  My tea even came with the twin to my cat teapet!  

Tea and teaware are available for purchase.

Old Asia also offers an Afternoon High Tea Ceremony by reservation.  This three-course meal allows you to choose a tea for each course.

Tea Shout-Out: Blackbird Bakery

This shout-out goes to Blackbird Bakery located in downtown Bainbridge Island. In addition to their popular baked goods, they serve loose leaf tea by the cup or pot as well as chai and kombucha. During my last visit, I enjoyed a pot of English Breakfast tea with a fresh slice of Spinach Chevre Quiche.

Tea Shout-Out: Modern Japanese Cuisine & Setsuko Pastry

The Tea Shout-Out highlights restaurants and other businesses who go the extra mile to serve good quality tea. 

This shout-out goes to Modern Japanese Cuisine and Setsuko Pastry in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood.  Alongside their delicious food, they serve Japanese tea from local tea business Charaku.  While you're there, you can buy Charaku loose leaf teas to enjoy at home.  Tea is also a key ingredient in many of the desserts by Setsuko Pastry.

During the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, Modern Japanese Cuisine is offering delivery and curbside pickup.

During my visit, I enjoyed Genmaicha from Charaku with Chicken Katsudon.

Tea Shoutout: Oyatsupan

This shout-out goes to Oyatsupan Bakery in Beaverton, Oregon.  Guests can enjoy a pot of tea (Sencha from Smith Tea in my case) with any of a wide variety of fresh from the oven Japanese-style baked goods.  As a bonus, you'll find tea-flavored treats among the baked goods like matcha cream cornets, matcha cookie pan, and matcha and custard buns.

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Hanazono in historic downtown Port Townsend.  Enjoy a pot of Japanese tea with your meal and for something on the sweet side, consider Nigori Matcha sake by Kizakura.

Tea Shoutout: Corina Bakery

The Tea Shout-Out highlights restaurants and other businesses who go the extra mile to serve good quality tea. 

This shout-out goes to Corina Bakery located in downtown Tacoma and conveniently adjacent to The Grand Cinema.  In addition to a bevy of baked goods, Corina Bakery offers a selection of teas from local Mad Hat Tea Company.  During my latest visit I enjoyed a light pre-movie meal of a veggie frittata with a pot of Pai Mu Dan and a matcha raspberry macaron.

Tea Shoutout: Gorkha Durbar

This shout-out goes to Gorkha Durbar, a restaurant in Kent specializing in Nepali, Indian, and Tibetan food.  Thanks to a friendly tip, I stopped in for a cup of their Nepali Tea (a sweet and savory chai) and La Pheto (also known as Laphet), a spicy and delicious Burmese tea salad.

Tea Shout-Out: Beijing Noodle No 9

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Beijing Noodle No. 9 in Caesar's Palace Las Vegas.  Instead of the standard house tea, this restaurant offers a variety of options including green tea, jasmine green tea, oolong, and pu'erh.  For this visit, I enjoyed a delicious pot of Tung Ting Oolong while watching the chef prepare the hand-pulled noodles for my Shrimp Chow Mein.

Tea Shout-Out: Makers and Finders

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Makers & Finders, located on Main Street in the Las Vegas Arts District.  They're a Latin cafe and coffee/tea bar offering hot and iced teas and matcha and their Tip Cup Premium Tea Service features a selection of direct-trade teas curated by Tealet.  Premium tea is only available in-house and is served in a tipping cup (thus the name).  By design, the cup tips slightly to one side for the hot water to be poured over the tea leaves in the built-in filter.  When the tea is fully steeped, you can tip the cup to the other side to prevent over-steeping and enjoy!

Tea Shout-Out: The Barrel Thief

This shout-out goes to The Barrel Thief, a wine and whiskey bar in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood that partners with local artisans and small businesses.  Since the owner is a tea enthusiast, the menu includes five varieties of loose leaf tea served in auto-brewers.

This Tea Shout-Out goes to Pearl Ocean, located on the 2nd floor of the Lucky Dragon Casino. In addition to delicious dim sum, they serve house teas (green, oolong, black, and puerh) as well as a nice selection of premium teas that you would also find at Cha Garden. Servings are generous with large teapots and free refills.
