Tea Review: Tieguanyin Pearl Oolong (Bama Tea)

Tieguanyin Pearl Oolong (5800)/茶叶 浓香型 赛珍珠5800 安溪乌龙茶
Bama Tea/八马茶业
Type: Oolong
Origin: China, Fujian Province, Anxi
Product Description: The material derived from an eco-tea garden with the altitude of 900 meters owns by Bama Tea Co., located in the original area of "Tieguanyin“ in Anxi county,Fujian province.

The tea looks twisted, tight and verdant in shape with oily green color and long-lasting fragrancy. After brewing, the tight leaves will spread gracefully and the soup will turn golden with pure "Tieguanyin" charm.

Temperature: 195° F
Amount: 3 grams
Steeping Time: 3 minutes

The dry leaves have a roasty aroma with notes of dark bread, wood, and a hint of molasses.

The light yellow infusion has a flowery and roasty aroma.  The taste is smooth and buttery with notes of roasted nuts up front as well as lightly fruity and floral notes.

The taste held up beautifully throughout three infusions and, with an increase in steeping time, I would expect this oolong to produce a few more flavorful infusions.

This tea was received as a gift from a third party.
